Sara is an experienced acupuncturist and Traditional Japanese & Chinese medicine practitioner.
After completing her PhD in medical science, she became fascinated by traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine. In 2016, while still undertaking her postdoctoral research, she began her formal studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia and is a member of the AACMA (Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association), providing traditional medical care to her community while continuing her interest in medical research.
The driving force behind her clinical practice is helping her patients through gentle, effective, and personalised care rooted in authentic Japanese and Chinese medicine. Sara’s traditional medicine practice is truly her ikigai (生きがい).
Sara's Approach to Care
My clinical practice is grounded in both classical Chinese and Japanese medicine. I specialise in Japanese acupuncture, especially the abdominal palpation-based approach. This hands-on method gives immediate feedback from your body. As a result, I can diagnose and choose the most effective treatment options for you. Also, I check your body’s response in real time, which allows me to adjust your treatment as needed.
Every session is thoughtfully tailored to your individual needs. In addition, I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely cared for. I allow enough time in each appointment for genuine conversation, careful assessment, and unrushed treatment. I believe true healing comes from addressing both the root causes and the symptoms. Because of this, I focus on treating you as a whole person, not just your condition.
It is a privilege to serve my community through traditional medicine. Occasionally, I also welcome interstate visitors who seek my care. If you are visiting from out of town, I am happy to provide treatment and connect you with trusted practitioners in your area when you return home. I look forward to supporting you and your family in achieving your health goals and witnessing the positive impact of acupuncture and holistic care on your wellbeing.
